Efi Gomez
Founder & Massage Therapist, Ancestral Healing Spa
I'm new to massage therapy as a profession — but not to caring for people. This work is the newest chapter of something I've been doing my whole life, and a return to something much older than me.
Book a SessionWhere I come from
I was born in a very rural part of Jalisco, Mexico — humble beginnings, far from everything. My grandmother was a midwife and a healer. She and our family kept a ranch up in the mountains, far from town, from the kind of ancestry that learned to heal from the earth itself, the way Indigenous people in that region always have. That knowledge was passed down long before it had a name.
I immigrated to the United States as a child and grew up working hard alongside my parents, the way immigrant families do. I've called Utah home for over thirteen years now.
The long way home
Caring for people has always come naturally to me, long before I called it a career. I worked as a CNA. I was a caregiver for seniors. I spent many years as a nanny. I worked in hospice care, sitting with people at the end of their lives. Eventually I worked my way up into the corporate world — and after ten years there, I made the decision to leave it behind and return to what I actually care about: taking care of humans.
Opening this spa is me reconnecting with my roots — returning to my ancestral roots, and to the work I was always meant to do.
Why womb massage
I love working with women at every stage of life. My chosen specialty is womb massage, using Mayan womb massage techniques as well as Rebozo, a tradition from my own home of Jalisco, Mexico.
I didn't get to grow up alongside my grandmother, learning the healing methods the women in my family have practiced on themselves and each other for generations. Because of that, after having my own children, I dealt with a lot of postpartum issues I didn't know how to name or heal. Over time, I found my way back to that knowledge and began healing myself. Now I want to share that healing with other women.
Today
I'm a mother of two young boys, and I genuinely love what I do. Every session I offer comes from the same place: generations of women caring for women, passed down until it reached me — and now, through my hands, to you.
